ZURICH: The Royal Court Affairs (RCA), represented by the Royal Gardens and Farms, garnered three awards for extra virgin olive oil produced in Riyadh Al Jabal Farm in Al Jabal Al Akhdhar.
This is yet another achievement for the Royal Court Affairs to be added to its achievements record. The awards came during the RCA’s second participation in the Olive Oil Award organised by Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland.
The Olive Oil Award saw competition among 123 products from 11 countries including Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Portugal, Germany and Switzerland.
The extra virgin olive oil produced at Riyadh Al Jabal Farm this year garnered a silver medal for olive oil produced from Koroneiki olive and two bronze medals for olive oil produced from cortina olive mixed with other types of olive.
Engineer Hilal bin Mohammed al Waili, Director-General of Royal Gardens and Farms Affairs said that this award is a credible indication of high quality olive oil that can be used in the local and global markets, and we view it as a certificate of trust. Winning these prestigious awards is yet another milestone in the efforts made by the Royal Gardens and Farms to achieve excellence in olive oil products with a focus on sustainability and a genuine benchmark for global excellence.
Extra virgin olive oil produced in Riyadh Al Jabal Farm is classified among the highest quality olive oil in the world. It is extracted from olives grown in cold climates at the farm where the climate contributes greatly to increasing the proportion of fatty acids, antioxidants and flavonoids. It is extracted manually using elaborate harvesting methods to preserve the integrity of the fruits and the quality of the oil. The olive fruits are then entered into the oil extraction unit immediately after harvest using the best extraction devices to ensure the production of high quality extra virgin olive oil, he added. — ONA
