The new e-service is available for nationals and residents under certain conditions.

The car should be transferred to a new owner along with the existing number plate and the car registration should be valid.

The procedures for transferring the car insurance should be finalized and the car should be insured with either of the following insurance companies:

Muscat Insurance

National Life and General Insurance

Vision Insurance

In the case of ownership transfer of cars that are older than 10 years, they should undergo technical inspection. Besides, both parties should not be having any cars with an expired registration for longer than one year.

Pawned cars are not eligible for ownership transfer.

The seller should sign and submit the ownership transfer application personally by using the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). The buyers should sign the application and pay a transaction fee within one day from the signing by the seller.

For residents to avail of the service, they should have a valid residence card and driver’s license.

Residents should not be having more than two 4WD or sedan cars registered under their name.

Ownership of wagon station vehicles cannot be made via the e-service.
