MUSCAT: The next leg of Oman’s qualification run for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India will begin on April 10 with a tri-series against PNG and Scotland in the United Arab Emirates. A double-round robin format will be followed, with the matches being played as part of the ICC Men’s CWC League 2.

Head Coach and Chief Development Officer Duleep Mendis said, “As a team, we are very excited to get started with these next set of games in the CWC League 2. Our last trip to the UAE was a successful one and we will look to deliver at a similar level this time around too. The boys have played some great cricket on the domestic circuit recently and look hungry and sharp for this tour. Scotland and PNG are both good sides and I look forward to some competitive and high-quality cricket over the next two weeks.“

Oman currently hold a 14-point advantage over second-placed UAE in the table, having played 10 games more.
