Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai wins golden prize

MUSCAT/DUBAI: The Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai has won the gold award for the 'Best Pavilion Theme Content' category during the official awards ceremony for international participants.
Mohsin bin Khamis al Balushi, Commissioner-General of the Sultanate of Oman's pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, said the achievement comes under the direct guidance and follow-up of the ministerial committee supervising the participation in Expo 2020 Dubai and the efforts of Omani youth who participated in developing the concept and content with creativity and professionalism.
On Thursday, a number of Omani talents in various disciplines participated in the closing day of Expo 2020 Dubai, within the participation programme for university and college students of the Sultanate of Oman.
Dr Khalid bin Abdulwahab al Balushi, head of the programme, said: “The participation in this programme coincide with international and national events in the Sultanate of Oman, including: Youth Day, Women’s Day, National Day, International Day for People with Disabilities, World Cinema Day, Education Day, and International Day for Women and Girls.
He added: This trip is a good opportunity for students of all universities and colleges of the Sultanate of Oman to interact and communicate with each other.
It is worth noting that the commissioners of the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the Expo and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth played a major role in the success of this programme through the continuous support and facilities provided to the programme’s affiliates over a period of six months.
Millions of people have flocked to the expo in its final days, pushing visit numbers over 23 million, despite the pandemic. -- ONA
