The Association for Children with Disability is set for the sixth Unity Charity exhibition at Fraser Suites, Bausher.
The event is to be held under the auspices of Asila bint Salim al Samsamiyah, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. The three-day exhibition will begin on Thursday from 10 am to 10 pm.
Oman Association for Children with Disability is a non-profit government organisation established in 1991 by a Royal Decree.
Among the Association’s nine centres, three are in Muscat, one in Athaiba, one in Al Khoudh and one in Qurayat. Three centres are in Al Batinah, one in Barka, one in Musannah and one in Saham. Two centres are in Al Dhahirah, one in Yanqul and one in Dhank. One centre is in Al Sharqiyah.
“Disability among these children is different. It ranges from mental, physical and a mix of both in addition to some with autism. We serve children of all nationalities free of charge,” said HH Sayyidah Hujaija al Said, Chairperson of Omani Association for Children with Disability.
“We are a non-profit organisation, and to cover our costs and expenses, we depend on donations from the private and government sectors and through fundraising initiatives. One of our fundraising programmes is to organise a charity exhibition to raise funds for the Association for Children with Disability.”
The Association has already hosted five successful charity exhibitions before Covid-19. The 'Unity Charity' is an exhibition of clothing, accessories, perfume and other items, available under one roof, needed for Ramadhan and Eid celebrations.
