641.5% growth in European guests in 3-5 star hotels in Oman

 
The monthly statistical bulletin of tourism indicators issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) reveal that the number of European visitors during January 2022 recorded the largest growth in the number of guests by 641.5 per cent to 26,571 from 3,584 in January of last year.

The NCSI bulletin shows a significant increase in the total revenues of 3-5 star hotels by 91.6 per cent during January 2022 amounting to RO 12.264 million, compared to the same month in 2021. The total number of hotel guests in 3-5 star hotels recorded an increase of 19.1 per cent during January 2022 compared to January 2021, bringing the number to 97,956 guests, while the occupancy rate reached 51.3 per cent during January 2022.

Meanwhile, Gulf visitors in the Sultanate of Oman in January 2022 grow by 270.6 per cent with a total of 5,548 visitors compated to 1,497 in January 2021. On the other hand, the number of Omani guests decreased by 24.9 per cent from 60,759 in January 2021 to 45,628 in January 2022. Also, the number of Asian guests decreased by 3.2 per cent, from 9,531 guests in January 2021 to 9,223 guests in January 2022.

The number of visitors from Oceania for January 2022 reach 733 registering a slight growth of 3.4 per cent compared to the same month last year, and the number of guests from the African continent during the month of January 2022 reach 698 visitors, a growth rate of 69.6 per cent compared to January 2021. Meanwhile, the number of guests of other nationalities reached 2,138, registering a growth rate of 36.4 per cent during January 2022 compared to the same month in 2021.
