Russia schedules military drills in Moldova breakaway region

Tiraspol: The Russian military has scheduled drills in Transnistria, the pro-Moscow separatist region of Moldova.

The Western Military District made the announcement on Thursday, as Russian forces attacked Ukraine by land and air.

According to the statement, a special training area had been set up to practice stopping enemy vehicles.

It was not clear from the statement whether the manoeuvre in the area, which borders Ukraine to the east, has already been completed.
