MUSCAT: The Real Madrid Foundation has signed a collaboration agreement with Ruznama Enterprises & Trading to run its Football Programme, an educational assistance project, in the Sultanate of Oman. The programme is designed to complete the academic curriculum for school students and has been carried out since 2017 alongside sporting and educational organisations throughout the world, putting a special focus on sports training.

The Football Programme is aimed at school children who already have some football experience. The goal is to drive youth potential in Oman both in terms of sporting development and instilling the associated values in the community. The students, from 8 to 15 years of age, will be led by a Spanish head coach selected by Ruznama Enterprises & Trading, who will head to Muscat in March, alongside a further 10 qualified local coaches. The specialists will run four weekly sessions of 45 minutes for those younger than 11, and of 90 minutes for the older children.

The sessions will benefit over 150 boys and girls, who will make use of the facilities at Seeb Stadium. The programme will be presented in Muscat in March and training will begin in May, following Holy month of Ramadan. The goal is to have up to 1,000 students by the end of the 2022/23 season.

Khamis Obaid al Ajmi, CEO of Ruznama Enterprises and Trading SPC, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration: 'It's a big milestone for us. Real Madrid is one of the greatest football clubs and we're proud to be associated with its foundation. I'm sure this collaboration will bring great value to our youth in Oman.'

The programme by Real Madrid Foundation is expected to contribute to creating a top-level football school that helps young people in their personal development from a social, physical, and psychological perspective.
