Coveted Italian honour for Talal al Rahbi

 
MUSCAT: Federica Favi, Ambassador of Italy, formally conferred on Talal bin Sulaiman al Rahbi, – Vice Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit, the ‘Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy’, which was awarded to him by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella.

During the ceremony, which was held on February 15, 2022 at the Italian residence, Ambassador Favi highlighted the contribution of Talal al Rahbi in strengthening bilateral relations between Italy and the Sultanate of Oman in the economic field during his tenure as Deputy Secretary General of the Omani Supreme Council for Planning and, since 2020, as Vice President of the newly established Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit. An enthusiast for Italy, Talal al Rahbi actively contributed to the success of bilateral business forums, the Italian-Omani Joint Commission in 2017 and the Med-Dialogues in Rome.

The Order of the Star of Italy is headed by the President of the Italian Republic and was originally established in 1947 to acknowledge those expatriates and foreigners who made an outstanding contribution to the reconstruction of Italy after World War II and is now focusing on highlighting the contribution of Italians and foreigners who contribute to preserve and promote the Italian national prestige abroad.
