RNO continues participation in IMX22

 
Muscat: The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) continues its participation in the International Maritime Exercise (IMX22). The Maritime Security Centre (MSC) assumes command and control of the exercise on the Omani maritime zone.

RNO ships and navy ships from the USA, the UK, Pakistan and South Korea are taking part in the exercise conducted with the support of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).

Commodore Tarik bin Issa al Raisi, Acting Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) accompanied by the MSC deputy chief, visited the exercise zone on the sea, on Monday. They were briefed about the exercise’s activities, tasks and duties undertaken by the participating naval ships as part of the exercise’s plan. They reviewed the methods and tactics utilized for implementing the objectives of the exercise.

The exercise aims to enhance existing security cooperation among the participating nations, international organizations and regional and international maritime centres. The exercise targets to boost communications and procedures for exchanging information and acquiring more experiences among the participating navies to enhance the security of ports and navigation lines and secure the movement of international ships. — ONA
