Samayil Industrial City attracts 19 projects in 2021

MUSCAT: Samayil Industrial City, administered by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), added 19 new investments to its expanding portfolio last year.
Covering a total area of around 122,000 sq metres, the new projects relate to the manufacturing of metal products, doors and windows, tubes for ammunition, firefighting tools and equipment, marble and cement, and food industries such as meat products, dairy products, poultry, dates, in addition to medical and carton fabrication industries. When fully operational, they will create more than 300 direct jobs.
Meanwhile, Madayn is currently undertaking the design and implementation of support infrastructure projects in Samayil Industrial City. This includes a dual-lane road spanning 1.4 km from the roundabout at the main entrance of the Industrial City to the roundabout near Al Sharqiyah expressway.
The project also includes designing and executing sewage pipe linking phase 3 with phase 1 of Samail Industrial City. The completion rate of the project has reached 48 per cent and is expected to be completed in April 2022.
Samayil Industrial City is divided into several sectors including food industry, plastic materials industry, steel industry, marble industry, building materials industry, in addition to other industries such as furniture, petrochemicals, and supporting services such as warehousing.
