General Inspector of Police and Customs issues new decision

Muscat: Lt Gen Hassan Mohsin al Shraiqi, General Inspector of Police and Customs issued a decision merging, raising the level and amending the name of some ROP formations, as of Sunday, February 6, 2022 as follows:
- Merging the Directorate General of Civil Status and the Directorate General of Passports and Residence under the name “The Directorate General of Passports and Civil Status”.
- Upgrading the Mounted Police Unit to a Command called “Cavalry Police Command”
- Amending the title of “General Administration for Development and Auditing” to become “General Administration for Planning and Development.”
- Amending the title of “The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations” to become “The Directorate General of Criminal investigations and Research”.
- Amending the title of “Public Relations Department” to “Department of Security Relations and Media”.
- Merging the Directorate General of Civil Status and the Directorate General of Passports and Residence under the name “The Directorate General of Passports and Civil Status”.
