5 held on drug charges

MUSCAT: The Directorate-General for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances arrested five expats including an infiltrator who entered the country illegally via the sea with drugs in his possession.
The police monitored a smuggling boat and followed the infiltrator who was finally arrested alongwith with other gang members from Muscat Governorate. The police seized more than 35 kg of crystal meth and marijuana.
Legal procedures against the defendants have yet to be completed.
ROBBERY: The Dhofar Governorate Police Command arrested a citizen on charges of robbery and impersonating a police officer.
The defendant stopped his victim, forced him to withdraw money from an ATM and fled.
The police managed to identify the culprit and arrested him.

BOAT SEIZED: The Coast Guard Police in North Al Batinah Governorate seized a boat carrying 49 infiltrators of Asian nationalities while attempting to enter the country illegally.
