Oman, Lithuania review trade, investment opportunities

MUSCAT: Eng Ridha Juma al Saleh, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) received here on Wednesday Dr Mantas Adomenas, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Republic of Lithuania and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed several topics, mainly conducting bilateral meetings between the Omani businessmen and their Lithuanian counterparts, as well as creating a joint platform to present the investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman and Lithuania.
MEETING WITH MOCIIP OFFICIAL
Dr Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP), for Commerce and Industry, also received Dr Mantas Adomenas.
The meeting reviewed the astounding relations between the two countries. It also covered fields of trade and economic cooperation.
The two sides discussed several matters of common interest and expressed their keenness to seize the investment opportunities and the available capabilities in the fields of trade, industry, tourism and energy.
The meeting touched on Oman Vision 2040 and the economic diversification sectors targeted by the Sultanate of Oman, namely transformative industries, tourism, mining, fisheries, transportation, logistic services and associated sectors.
It also covered the investment opportunities and incentives offered for investors through the Foreign Capital Investment Law, as well as other advantages offered in the previous period to stimulate the business environment.
The two sides explored the possibility of exchanging expertise, increasing cooperation, organizing joint events aimed at bolstering trade exchange and conducting B2B meetings among businessmen of the two countries.
CONSULTATIONS SESSION
Meanwhile, a session of political consultations was held between the Foreign Ministries of the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Lithuania.
The Omani side was headed by Shaikh Khalifa Ali al Harthy, the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs. The Lithuanian was headed by Dr Mantas Adomenas Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The session discussed bilateral relations between the two countries. The two sides underlined their keenness to continue promoting joint cooperation in economic fields. They also stressed their willingness to exchange investments.
The session further touched on several regional and international matters of common interest.
