NLG names new COO

Dr Dhafir Awadh al Shanfari
National Life & General Insurance Company (NLG) – part of Ominvest – has appointed Dr Dhafir Awadh al Shanfari (pictured) as the new Chief Operating Officer.
Dr Al Shanfari, who holds a MBA Degree from Duquesne University (Pittsburgh USA) and a PhD from Deakin University (Melbourne Australia), also spent a number of years in the academic sector, notably providing teaching, research and consultation services at Sultan Qaboos University.
In the public sector, he served in leadership positons with several organisations. He was Acting CEO of the Competition and Monopoly Prevention Centre, CEO of the Omani Authority for Partnership and Development, and CEO of the Public Authority for Privatisation and Partnership.
Dr Dhafir will join NLG in the first week of January 2022, the company said in a filing to the Capital Market Authority (CMA)
