Marafiq receives ISO 9001 certification

Wholly government-owned integrated utility services provider Marafiq has been awarded a ISO 9001 certification, demonstrating its commitment towards customer satisfaction by ensuring high standards in all processes, products as well as services. The recognition also emphasises the sustainable and continual improvements in the entire company operations.
ISO 9001 certification affirms that Marafiq applies a well-designed and effective quality management system in all process which will ensure efficiency through consistent quality improvement efforts.
Abdullah bin Mohammed al Hashimi, Marafiq Managing Director said, “We are pleased to achieve ISO 9001 certification, which attests to a well-executed system in Marafiq and reflects our strategic objectives in maintaining high quality measurements which will definitely support us in meeting our customers’ expectations. We also aim to achieve other ISO certifications.”
Marafiq is a one-stop service provider that serves industries in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm through a central utility services agreement with the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones. It has started implementing a number of vital projects in Duqm, such as the integrated power and water plant with a total production capacity of 320 megawatts of electricity and 36,000 cubic metres of water per day, in addition to a seawater intake with a capacity of 1.5 million cubic metres per day and a high voltage 80km transmission line 132 KV, to transmit electricity to Ras Markaz
In addition, Marafiq is also licensed by the Authority for Public Services Regulationy to generate, transmit, distribute and supply of potable water to customers in Duqm zone.
