Oman’s Affordable Art Fair on Dec 2, 3

An Affordable Art Fair conducted annually by art fair organisations is scheduled for December 2, 3. Held after a year’s gap due to the pandemic, the fair will see a team of experienced and qualified art professionals who have joined forces to organise the contemporary art exhibition.

Over 30 brilliant artists based in the Sultanate of Oman including Omanis are expected to showcase their artworks.

Artist Radhika Hamlai, the chief organiser of Affordable Art Fair since 2017, explains that the fair will provide a huge opportunity for over 35 participating artists and galleries to exhibit their artworks which will help increase conversations about art.

As one who has been promoting art and artists in the Sultanate of Oman, she says the art fair will help create an awareness for everyone who should be able to own a piece of art and make it more affordable.

Radhika says the specialty of the fair “is the joy of collecting art and all the artworks displayed will be priced below RO 150. The event will be widely promoted so as to reach out to a large number of local and international enthusiasts.”

“The fair will offer a wide range of art enthusiasts and collectors to the event and help broaden their collection of contemporary and fine arts. Our events are open to the public giving full exposure to Omani locals’’, she adds.

All the exhibitors will have a stall of their own to exhibit which will include art works, sculptors, drawings, clothes, ceramics, paintings or any medium that they can paint on.

Another important factor about the fair is its aim to promote young and emerging artists providing them a platform for exposure to the local market as well as having senior artists and art galleries taking part.

Omani artists like Ibti al Said, Farah Asqul, Tahira Fida Hussain, Madny al Bakry, Bashayer al Naaimi and others along with art galleries namely Al Ghalya Art and Designer, Scientific College of Design, Artist Collective, Rebeca Nigrinis Art Studio-Gallery, Shah Nagardas Manji, Cure8Art Gallery, along with university and college teachers, will be part of it.

The art fair is scheduled to be held at Al Bahja Hall, Qurum, and the timings are from 10 am to 7 pm on both the days.
