Sohar Airport welcomes first Fly Dubai flight

Muscat: Sohar Airport on Thursday received its first flight of Fly Dubai, the low-cost economic airline in the United Arab Emirates, and launched the direct line between Suhar and Dubai International Airport at the rate of two flights per week, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The launch comes as a result of the continuous efforts to promote air traffic in the Sultanate's airports managed by Oman Airports, and to cope with challenges imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Oman Airports stated that the return of international flights from and to Sohar Airport in less than two months, since the lift of the quarantine requirement decision and the requirement of the PCR test upon arrival in the Sultanate of Oman for those who had received the two Covid-19 vaccine doses, reflects the magnitude of efforts made by Oman Airports in the aspects of uplifting the operational scale of Sohar Airport, as well as the importance of the airport's strategic status.

Oman Airports expressed their pleasure and happiness to receive the first flight of Fly Dubai from Dubai International Airport.

The launch of this new line will greatly serve both countries as it will revive the economical and tourist activity in the North and South Al Batinah governortaes.

With the resumption of passenger flights at Sohar Airport, we look forward to strengthening our contribution to informing passengers and visitors of all the outstanding tourist and recreational attractions offered by the city of Sohar.
