Health minister receives Syrian health minister

 
Muscat: Dr Ahmed Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health received in his office on Sunday Dr Hassan Mohammed Al Ghabbash, Health Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic, within the framework of his current official several-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

The visit aims at reviewing the best practices and leading experiences in Oman in fields of emergency operations centers, public health response and the Sultanate's measures of preparedness and response during Covid-19, in addition to the strategies developed to contain the pandemic within the framework of public healthcare system.

The meeting discussed matters of common interests in various health care areas between the two brotherly countries and reviewed the achievements made.

The meeting was attended by Dr Fatima Mohammed al Ajmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Administrative, Financial, and Planning Affairs, the Syrian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman and the delegation accompanying the guest.

An official session of talks was held between Dr Ahmed Mohammed al Saeedi and Dr Hassan Al Ghabbash, Syrian Minister of Health.

The session reviewed the practical aspects of public health emergency operations center in Oman, priorities and capacities of public health laboratories within the pandemic context.

The session also laid emphasis on tackling some aspects related to the social determinants of health. It also shed light on the health cities project. --ONA
