Oman Embassy issues Thailand travel updates

 
Thailand is open to quarantine-free travel from November 1 with Covid testing and vaccination requirements, Oman's Embassy in Bangkok said.

The fully vaccinated visitors from some countries, including the Sultanate, will be able to enter the country without the need to quarantine from November 1.

'Omani citizens wishing to visit Thailand and meet the entry requirements, and to avoid being subject to the quarantine regime, are kindly requested to browse the attached link https://tp.consular.go.th that specifies all the required procedures,' the statement said.

There are still strict testing requirements in place with mandatory PCR testing before departure and upon arrival.

A PCR test that is taken no more than 72 hours before travel and another upon arrival. Travellers must await the result at reserved accommodation or a pre-arranged test centre.

Before travel, the traveller must apply for a Thailand Pass QR Code at tp.consular.go.th, provide proof of vaccination, an approved hotel booking for your first night and proof of booking for your arrival PCR test.

The travellers need to provide a confirmed payment for a 1-night stay at “SHA+, AQ, 0Q, or AHQ” approved accommodation and a PCR test booked for arrival.

Also proof of an insurance policy with coverage no less than $50,000 (£36,481).

Unvaccinated travellers would have to spend 10 days in mandatory hotel quarantine at their expense and will be not be allowed to leave the room except for medical treatment or Covid tests.

People under 12 years of age who travel with parents are exempted from vaccination requirements.

At the airport, travellers must submit the QR Code to the health authorities and follow the immigration procedures, undergo a PCR test at the place of residence, or at the test centre designated in advance, travel to the hotel by means of transport designated in advance, download MorChana application in the hotel, wait for the test result at the hotel. If the result is negative, the traveller can go out and move freely around the country.

Oman's Embassy said a traveller who has not completed the vaccination requirements will be subject to a 10-day quarantine.
