2nd list of Government-subsidized jobs announced

MUSCAT: In implementation of the Royal directives issued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to expedite the implementation of the employment initiatives including that for supporting the wages the new entrants to the labour market among Omanis, the Ministry of Labour announced 332 job opportunities in the private sector allocated to job-seekers who have never been employed.
The new job vacancies include 243 jobs for college graduates, 18 jobs for higher diploma holders, 37 jobs for holders of the above-GED, 4 jobs for vocational diploma holders and 30 jobs for GED holders.
The move is aimed to support and encourage the private sector establishments to employ national job-seekers and also within the framework of the ministry’s constant efforts to supply the labour market with national competencies.
This is the second advertisement for job opportunities provided by the private sector which had registered to benefit from the initiative for supporting wages of Omanis directed by His Majesty and targets the new entrants to the labour market.
As per the initiative, the government will subsidize the salaries of national employees by RO 200 for two years while the employer pays the difference of the agreed salary provided that the employment period is not less than 4 years. — ONA
