Aldin Theater of Culture and Art participates in Dubai Expo 2020

As part of its continuous international activities and participation, the Aldin Theater of Culture and Art takes part in the global event at the Dubai Expo 2020.

The group will be showcasing the best of their skills from October 2021 to April 2022 covering the 6 months duration of the expo in the United Arab Emirates.

The global event includes participants from 191 countries and is expected to welcome almost 25 million visitors coming from all around the world to enjoy the variety of activities organized during the event.

Aldin Theater will present a theatrical performance in conjunction with the Omani Youth Day celebrated on the 26th of October every year. The theatrical performance is called Art’s Box, directed by Salim Al Rawahi. It tells the story of an artist singing on the streets with the help of his friends to earn their sustenance but they face some issues and keep struggling to win. The Aldin participating team includes 14 members covering the scenario and directing, scenography, acting, media, management, public relations, fashion, decoration, and general supervision.

“First, we would like to thank the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for their trust and support throughout the journey of our participation in Dubai Expo 2020, which is a great opportunity for the Omani youth to showcase their talents and creativity in different areas especially in the theatre,” shared Salim Al Rawahi, the Art’s Box Director.

He added, “The performance will demonstrate the issues faced by the artists and how important it is for the artists to present their best in what they do. We hope that we succeed in this work and help in introducing Oman as a special cultural and artistic destination to the world’.

The Aldin Theater of Culture and Art is considered one of the most successful and well-known theatre groups in the Sultanate. This participation comes along with the international participation of Aldin in Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Kuwait, Iran, Tunisia, and Romania to name a few.
