Oman opens its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

Dubai: Oman opened its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on Friday. The pavilion was inaugurated by Mohsin bin Khamis al Balushi, Adviser to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and Oman’s General Commissioner at the expo in the presence of of Dr Sayyid Ahmed bin Hilal al Busaidy, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Shaikh Salim bin Musallam al Katheeri, Head of Oman’s Commercial Office in Dubai, and Ridha bin Jumaa al Saleh, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Al Balushi said that the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai is distinguished in terms of design and content. It is inspired by frankincense tree, which played an important role in Oman’s ancient history and trade. It also connects with the Expo 2020 Dubai theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.”
He said the Sultanate’s pavilion, has strictly adhered to the parameters set by the organising committee. The pavilion features Sultanate’s achievements in various economic, cultural, social and scientific fields. The visitor to the Sultanate of Oman pavilion will come across the history of the Sultanate through the ages.
He said that the preparation of pavilion began in 2016. The Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion covers an area of 2,200 square meters and consists of three floors and is divided into five sections.
