Pact signed to train teachers, students in 3D printing

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education signed a cooperation agreement with Occidental Oman for implementing the specialized training program in 3D printing, which aims to build students' capabilities and empower them in the field of 3D engineering design with knowledge and skills.

The singing of the agreement took place at the Ministry of Education HQ on Monday. From the Ministry’s side, Majid al Bahri, Under-Secretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, signed the agreement with Stephen Kelly, President and General Manager of Occidental Oman.

Majid al Bahri, Under-Secretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, said: “The signing of this agreement comes to implement the specialized technical training program in the field of 3D engineering design directed to teachers of grades (10-12) schools from various governorates of the Sultanate. It is a starting point for teachers, students, and those interested in 3D engineering design. We hope that this program will contribute to promoting the culture of design and creating creative solutions for the target groups, which begin with understanding the basics of 3D engineering design, raising awareness about 3D design and printing techniques, and transforming students’ skills in this field to practical experience.”

The Under-Secretary also confirmed that the programme targets 110 teachers from various governorates in the Sultanate, alongside with 106 students from North Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
