Oman Equestrian Association to hold 65 events in new season

MUSCAT: The Oman Equestrian Association (OEA) announced that 65 competitions and events will be organised during the new season 2021-22.

The details were unveiled by OEA Chairman Sayyid Munther bin Saif al Busaidi, at a press meet on Wednesday at premises of OEA. Ahmed bin Saif al Abri, secretary general and chairman of the competitions committee was present in addition to the board of directors.

The chief of OEA stressed that the association is striving to develop its various programmes and competitions to keep pace with global developments through the support and assistance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, as well as from supporting partners from the private sector.



'The evidence of this is what has been accomplished in Al Mahamed Endurance Village in the Wilayat of Barka, which has become an Olympic village. It is capable of hosting big international competitions and the venue can attract large numbers of participants in various competitions,' Sayyid Munther said.

As many as 14 events will be organised this season for tent pigging including an international tent pegging event in Duqm. Four tournaments will be conducted for dressage events and 24 events for show jumping and 12 events for endurance races.
