Ministry of Labour conducts appraisal for job applicants in North Al Sharqiyah

 
IBRA: Within the framework of the directives issued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to employ job-seekers, and in continuation to the government’s employment efforts in various government units, the Ministry of Labour on Tuesday conducted tests and interviews for a number of government jobs at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Ibra in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

In comments to Oman News Agency (ONA), Salim bin Khalfan al Wuhaibi, head of the team tasked with conducting tests and interviews, said that the process will last for two days with 385 applicants holders of bachelor’s degree and post-GED contending for 54 job vacancies in the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the Environment Authority.

Al Wuhaibi added that the evaluation of the vacancies rolled out according to advertisement No 5 published on June 13 is of two types with the first evaluation being a 30-minute electronic test containing 30 questions in the fields of specialization, general culture and mental abilities. The test results are announced soon after the end of the test and the high achievers qualify for the job. He added that the e-system was designed by national cadres from the Ministry of Labour as well as specialists from the Sultan Qaboos University and other higher education institutions.

The second type of appraisal is dedicated to interview-based jobs where the applicants undergo online interviews and the results appear immediately and the successful applicants qualify for the job. — ONA
