Registration deadline for National Research Award 2021 on August 19

Muscat: The registration deadline for the eighth cycle of the National Research Award 2021, organized annually by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI), will be closing on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2.00 pm.
The National Research Award is divided into two categories; Best published research led by a PhD holder or equivalent (Senior Specialist or higher in the medical field) and Best published research led by a young researcher (a non-PhD holder).
As for the research fields, they cover Education and Human Resources, Information and Communication Technologies, Health and Social Services, Cultural, Social, and Basic Sciences, Energy and Industry, and Environmental and Biological Resources.
Statistics in the registration system indicate that the number of applications submitted has reached 143 applications so far for the PhD holder or equivalent category up until last Saturday.

The National Research Award aims to encourage researchers to conduct high quality and relevant research in areas of national interest, encourage researchers to continue their activities and initiatives in conducting high-quality research, and increase the level of awareness about MoHERI and its various initiatives and programmes to support research and innovation. --ONA
