MOH starts vaccinating new target segment

 

Muscat: Within the National Strategy for Immunization against Coronavirus (Covid-19), the Ministry of Health on Sunday began administering vaccines to a new target segment, which includes people aged 18 and above in all governorates of the Sultanate.

A number of targeted people for vaccination expressed their satisfaction with the drive and the easiness of procedures in vaccination centres. They also valued the efforts of the government in ensuring the health of citizens and residents alike.

Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat and Sahil Health Centre in the Wilayat of Quriyyat have started receiving targeted people with full adherence to health measures.

The Directorate General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate also continues providing the drive-thru vaccination service at Oman Automobile Association.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Thamra Said al Ghafri, acting Director General of Health Services in the Governorate of Muscat, said that the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre saw a good turnout of people and a smooth vaccination process.

Al Ghafri added that the drive-thru vaccination service in the Oman Automobile Association is offered from 2 to 7 pm. Further updates will be given weekly on this service.

Moreover, the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah today started vaccinating people aged 18 and above with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine. The complex also continues vaccinating other targeted age groups.

The Ministry of Health has emphasized the importance of booking an appointment through the website https://covid19.moh.gov.om or through Tarassud Plus application before heading to government vaccination centres in various governorates of the Sultanate to ensure a safe and smooth vaccination process.
