Rainfall witnesses in some parts, more expected

MUSCAT: Rains are predicted in some parts of the Sultanate in the coming days as cumulus clouds have spread over the governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar.

The rainfall measurement stations of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, have recorded the highest rainfall amount of 38 mm in the Wilayat of Izki followed by Al Hamra with 28 mm, Ibri 26 mm, Bahla 25 mm, Al Buraimi 25 mm, Samayil 18 mm, Yanqul 13 mm and Al Mudhaibi 12 mm.

The Wilayat of Bahla and the adjoining areas experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, on Sunday causing several wadis to overflow.

The groundwater recharge dam in the Wilayat of Ibri is filled to the brim with water as a result of heavy downpours and running wadis.
