Sultanate participate in GCC Trade Cooperation Committee meeting

Muscat: The 60th meeting of the Trade Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), was held via video conference, on Sunday.
The meeting was attended by Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Dr Saleh bin Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry and a number of officials from the foreign ministry, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority and the Consumer Protection Authority.
A number of topics were discussed at the meeting including the GCC Patent Executive Regulations and the purviews of the GCC Patents Committee, the flow of intra trade between the GCC countries, the standardized commercial laws which include the draft GCC Competition Law, the Executive Regulations of the GCC Consumer Protection Law in addition to other topics pertaining to business entrepreneurs, the knowledge economy of the small and medium enterprises in the GCC countries and the Secretariat-General’s vision for enhancing the joint GCC action for the post-Covid-19 period.
The meeting approved the Executive Regulations of the GCC Patent Law and the purviews of the GCC Patent Committee. It also ratified the vision for supporting business entrepreneurs and the knowledge economy of the small and medium enterprises in the GCC countries.
