The Ministry calls on everyone to follow up on updates about the target groups and registration mechanisms.
The second phase of mass vaccination (from June 21) will cover the population group of 45 years and above.
Preparations have been underway at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), one of the main venues for the mass national vaccination campaign from June.
A team lead by Dr. Mohammed bin Saif al Hosni, Undersecretary, Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, and Maitha bint Saif al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, visited the OCEC to oversee the preparations, including installation of the necessary equipment.
The third package (first half of July) will include immunization of higher education students, workers in the education sector, and academics in the higher education sector.
Badr bin Saif a-Rawahi, Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases Control at the Ministry of Health, said that taking vaccinations will become a condition for entering educational and government institutions in the future.
He added that it will complete immunizing 30 percent of the Sultanate’s population before July at the current pace of vaccine supply.
