‘Be Innovative’ programme trains teachers

The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General for Special Education and Continuing Learning, has organised a virtual training programme under the title 'Be Innovative' under the patronage of Eng Hilal bin Nasser al Shibli, Director General of the Oman Makers Center, in the presence of Dr Fathia bint Khalfan al Sidiya, Director-General of the Directorate. The three-day training programme concluded on Wednesday with wide participation from supervisors and teachers of special education in private schools across the Sultanate.

The programme aimed at evaluating teachers’ creativity and innovation capabilities, and applying creative thinking skills and methods, whether in the school environment, or through daily life situations and the surrounding community, and employing creative thinking strategies in their field of work, and the details of educational life.

The training programme included morning and evening sessions in which six different papers were presented by trainers specialised in the field of innovation, which focused on innovation in education and intellectual property rights. The programme also included workshops on professional web design, 3D printers in the educational process, innovation from idea to product, along with the success story of the Innovation Factory.
