OFA launches $3.76m project

Integrated technical centre, player accommodation facility to come up

Muscat, April 29

HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, laid on Thursday the cornerstone of an integrated technical centre for Oman Football Association (OFA) and players accommodation complex.

The event took place at the OFA headquarters at Seeb Stadium in presence of Shakih Rashad bin Ahmed Al Hinai, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Sports and Youth, OFA Chairman Shaikh Salim al Wahaibi, and other dignitaries.

HH Sayyid Theyazin unveiled the plaque declaring the start of executing the project.

The $3.76 million project is financed by the world football governing body Fifa and features full building for the technical staff and a full-fledged accommodation facility for the national teams players. The construction area will be more than 2900 square metres.

The project will include offices, meeting rooms, eight individual and 47 combined rooms as accommodation facility for the national team players, entertainment area, fitness centre and swimming pool.

The project is expected to be completed in 2022.
