MUSCAT: The Ministry of Heritage and Culture (MoHC), represented by the Directorate-General of Arts, inaugurated on Wednesday the writers and literati database programme under the patronage of Shaikh Hamad bin Hilal al Maamari, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture for Cultural Affairs.
Yousef bin Ibrahim al Balushi, Director-General of Arts at the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, said: “This project was prepared by a specialised committee at the ministry. Its programme focuses on the theoretical and conceptual aspects of the required database. It includes profile of the writers/literati, a set of features and the applicable controls, and the conversion of these concepts into an electronic application containing the registration page.” — ONA
