World leaders convey condolences

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tareq bin Taimour received at Al Alam Palace several regional and international leaders who arrived here to extend condolences on the death of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.


His is Majesty Sultan received at Al Alam Palace Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia and custodian of two holy mosques, and his accompanying delegation on Monday.


While meeting with His Majesty the Sultan, the king expressed his sincere condolences to His Majesty, the Royal family and the Omani people on the death of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, praying to the Almighty Allah to rest the deceased’s soul in peace, and grant His Majesty, the Royal family and the Omani people patience.


Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, the ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, arrived in Oman and offered condolences on Monday to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tareq bin Taimour on the demise of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.


His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tareq also received Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani and the accompanying delegation who arrived in the country to offer condolences on the death of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.


His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tareq also received Prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain.


António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, has praised the great contribution of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’ in the field of regional and international diplomacy.


Guterres also offered condolences on the demise of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.


His is Majesty also received at Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Envoy of King Vajiralongkorn of Thailand.


Meanwhile, The Diwan of Royal Court said that the deadline for ceremonies to receive condolences on the death of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Bin Taimour will be tomorrow (Tuesday), January 14, at 12pm.
