Workshop on human trafficking begins

MUSCAT: The national workshop on the phenomenon of human trafficking Oman started at Sheraton Hotel Oman on Tuesday. The two-day workshop is organised by the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking (NCCHT), in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for the GCC countries. A total  of 55 participants from various stakeholders in the Sultanate concerned with combating human trafficking take part in the workshop that is lectured by experts from the United Nations.


The workshop includes three themes; the first titled ‘Global Framework: Human Trafficking’ presented by Mustafa al Adawi, expert of the Arab initiative to build national capacity to combat human trafficking in the Arab world. Mariam al Maliki, an expert of the Arab initiative to build national capacity to combat human trafficking in the Arab world, presented the second theme titled ‘Victim Protection: Supporting Victims of Human Trafficking: Global Framework and Basic Principals.’ — ONA
