The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) managed to arrest an Asian expatriate in Muttrah as she was offering treatment and selling medicines at a ladies' tailoring shop where she was employed. PACP said such acts not only violated the Consumer Protection Law and its executive regulations, but also posed threat to human health and safety.

As per the details, an expatriate worker had converted a small place in the tailoring shop in Muttrah to a  clinic place where she illegally practiced medicine and some patients who frequented her.

The PACP inspectors visited the shop based on a tip and verified and the location of the room that was attached to the shop was discovered. A number of medicines, medical devices, medical books and empty containers were seized.

In the course of the inspection of the shop and its store, 954 tablets of liquid medicine and capsules, 10 ointments, 122 tablets and 18 ointments, a doctors' earpiece, a blood glucose meter, a post-pregnancy scanner and empty packets (3000) used to fill medicines for the patients were seized. These products are stored in unsuitable conditions.
