Winners of first statistical Ramadhan contest feted

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Statistics and Indicators Department, in cooperation with the Staff Welfare Department, honoured the winners of the first statistical Ramadhan contest under the patronage of Dr Bader al Kharousi, Director-General of the General Directorate for Human Resources Development. A number of directors and heads of departments and staff at the ministry attended the ceremony. Fares bin Saeed al Farsi, Head of Educational Indicators Department, in his speech highlighted the importance of establishing such specialised competitions aimed at activating the activities of the department, introducing them and disseminating the culture of statistical and informational data in a simple way.


He also explained in his speech that the competition targeted staff at the ministry who responded to the competition and also praised companies for their great response in supporting the winners of the competition, which was instrumental in attracting employees to participate in the competition. The Department of Statistics and Indicators displayed two visual presentations. The first on the companies supporting the competition, and the second on the Department’s most prominent publications. These publications include the annual Book of Educational Statistics, Educational Indicators, the Educational Process in the Sultanate of Oman in Numbers, and the Launch of the Digital School Map, and School Educational Indicators Guideline, among other publications.


Dr Bader al Kharousi honoured the members of the organising committee, and supporting companies, and the winners of the first statistical Ramadhan competition. The ceremony ended with a commemorative gift presented to the sponsor.
