MUSCAT, Dec 30 - The Financial Times (FT) from the UK, the world’s leading global business publication, has chosen the Sultanate as one of the world’s top tourist destinations for 2019. The newspaper, in a recent report which included the best destinations in the world for the new year, said the Sultanate has many tourist attractions that make it one of the best destinations.
It said visitors to the Sultanate look forward to the thrills of adventure in the mountains and deserts. They also like to take part in activities such as climbing, cycling and swimming, among others.
The Observer asked tourists from different parts of the world what made Oman the destination of their choice. This is what they had to say.
Peter, an Italian, was impressed with Oman’s landscape.
According to Paulo, an architect from the same country, “There is a natural charm that attracts everyone to Oman.”
It was the beautiful landscape that attracted Anze Hernec, a Slovenian. “It is nice to be in a country with pristine beaches. Oman is an ideal location for off-road driving.”
Cene Ortrar, a Slovenian mechanical engineer, is floored by the beautiful climate.
“We loved swimming in the natural pools and watching stars in the desert in Al Sharqiyah.”
Gaja Koler, a psychologist from Slovenia, cited three different reasons why she loves Oman: Nice people, diverse landscape and delicious cuisine.
Petra, a doctor from Czech Republic, found the environment “magical”. “It’s our third day in Oman and we are in love with it.”
Vladimira, a tour guide, who visited the country on the recommendation of a friend who is an Oman Air stewardess, said she was “immersed in Oman history. We are studying its past”.
Neena, a scientific researcher from the Netherlands, is in love with the beautiful coast. “What attracted me was the natural diversity, ocean, desert and the mountains.”
Aron, a young graduate from the same country, said Oman was a “rare combination of all aspects of tourism and beautiful people”.
