WCAS convocation on Feb 15

MUSCAT: The XII Convocation of Waljat College of Applied Sciences in Academic Partnership with Birla Institute of Technology, India, is scheduled to be held on February 15 at Al Noor Hall, Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos, at 6 pm under the auspices of Dr Omar bin Abdul Muniem al Zawawi. Dr M K Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, Birla Institute of Technology, India, Dr Zuhoor Abdullah Salim al Khanjari, Chairman and members of the Trustee Council of Waljat College would be present on the occasion. 373 students shall be conferred with the degrees/diplomas in their respective disciplines in the convocation.


The graduating students of 2016 include 296 degree holders, 45 diploma holders and 32 postgraduates. The meritorious students in fields of Management, Engineering and Computer Applications in the year 2016 would be feted by WCAS for their achievements with gold medal of the college and certificates of merit. The Best Project Award will be given in recognition and appreciation of innovation and quality research work abilities of the students.The recipients of this award will be felicitated with a certificate of merit and cash prize during the graduation ceremony.


Recently WCAS has started one-year specialised training programmes duly approved by MoMP, Oman in Human Resources Management, Marketing and Sales Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. In addition to this college has introduced BE (Chemical), EMBA and BBA programmes in Weekend mode.


It is to be noted that around 4,000 national and international students have graduated from Waljat College of Applied Science so far and they are well placed in various companies like National Bank of Oman, Wipro, GE Healthcare Oman Division, Siemens, Radisoon Blue, Haya Water, Oman Rail Landmark Group, Muscat National Holding, Bank Muscat, BankDhofar to name a few.
