WCAS announces admission for 2017

MUSCAT: Waljat College of Applied Sciences (WCAS) announced admission for various programmes for Spring 2017 session. With a strong alumni strength of approximately 4,000 students, graduated with MBA, EMBA, BCA, BBA and BE (Biotechnology, Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering) programmes, Waljat College of Applied Sciences (WCAS) offers several technical and business management courses.


A college press release stated that the application form can either be collected from the Admission and Registration office at Block 3, KOM campus or downloaded from the college website. “WCAS has proven its academic excellence in the Sultanate of Oman. Established in the year 2001, the college shifted to the Knowledge Oasis Muscat campus in the year 2003. It has academic partnership with one among leading autonomous technical universities from India, the Birla Institute of Technology. Whether it is in the government sector or in the private sector or even as an entrepreneur, our graduates have made their presence felt globally,” the release said.


In 2016 WCAS introduced new academic programmes namely B Engg. (Chemical), EMBA (Weekend Mode) and BBA (Weekend Mode). The college also offers Advanced Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering and Advanced Diploma in Electronics and Communication. Students can also opt for Diploma in Business Administration, Computer Applications, Computer Science and Engineering and in Electronics and Communication.


“WCAS has a vibrant College-Industry Interaction Initiative and Entrepreneurship Development Society and IEEE Students’ Chapter to provide opportunities for students to visit industries and interact with top techno-managerial leaders in different domains. The students are groomed to start their own business entity or to become a researcher or to become job providers rather than job seekers, after their education. The college is equipped with video conference facility, learning resource centre, students’ recreation centre, auditorium, primary health centre and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. The students get hands on experience with software like NI LabView, Matlab with imulink, SPSS, Xylinix, Multisim, ns2, OPNET, Oracle, NetBeans and Language Laboratory to name a few,” the press release said.


Besides imparting quality education, the college claims to give due emphasis on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for holistic development of students. “For holistic development the college also conducts a wide range of extracurricular activities. WCAS has continued with its focus on inculcating the cherished values of wisdom, commitment, achievement and service in our students,” the release said.
