Waljat College barred from accepting new students

Muscat, Dec 16 - Waljat College of Applied Sciences has been disallowed from accepting new students. Dr Rawya bint Saud al Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education, has issued an order 2018/47 that disallows the college from accepting new students. According to Article 2 of the decision, the Waljat College can continue its operations while maintaining quality of its academic programmes until the students have completed their studies and obtained their academic qualifications. The ministry’s decision is “based on Royal Decree No 99/42 concerning the establishment of colleges and private higher institutes and the Royal Decree No 2002/6 defining the role of the Ministry of Higher Education, Ministerial Decision 2000/34 issuing the regulations of the private colleges and institutes, and Education Council Resolution 2018/6,” it said in a statement.
