Visit of Chinese Navy fleet ships to boost ties

MUSCAT: A number of Chinese Navy Fleet Ships arrived here on Monday on an official several-day visit to the Sultanate.


Rear Admiral Shen Hao, Deputy Commander of the East Sea Fleet and Head of the Chinese Navy Task Group 150, and his accompanying delegation were received upon their arrival at Port Sultan Qaboos by Commodore Said bin Abdullah al Saedi, Senior Staff Officer at the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and a number of senior RNO officers.


Meanwhile, Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, received in his office on Monday Rear Admiral Shen Hao, Deputy Commander of the East Sea Fleet and Head of the Chinese Navy Task Group 150, currently visiting the Sultanate.


The two sides exchanged cordial conversations and matters of common concern between the two friendly countries.


Sayyid al Busaidy gave a briefing to the guest on the Governorate of Muscat and its role in serving the community, as well as the historic, tourist and civilisational landmarks renowned in wilayats of the governorate.


On his turn, the Chinese guest expressed his admiration over the unique civilisational landmarks in the Sultanate generally and the Governorate of Muscat in particular.


He valued the pioneering role pursued by the government under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos in pushing the wheel of development forward in the country and cementing relations of cooperation with other countries.


Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), received in his office on Monday Rear Admiral Shen Hao, Deputy Commander of the East Sea Fleet and Head of the Chinese Navy Task Group 150, and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting the Sultanate.


The two sides exchanged cordial conversations and viewpoints on several matters of common concern. The meeting was attended by Commodore Said bin Abdullah al Saedi, Senior Staff Officer at RNO, a number of senior RNO officers and the Military Attaché at the Chinese Embassy in Muscat. — ONA
