A magnificent collection of classic vintage and eclectic automobiles is attracting large number of car lovers in the capital city.


Being organised by Barr Al Jissah at its newly opened Al Mazaar Edutainment Centre, the collection comprises 14 vintage and unique automobiles, ranging from an ultra-rare 1926 Bugatti Type 23 to the ultra-luxurious 2014 Volkswagen T5 Business Van, which while looking like a regular van from the outside sports an ultra-luxurious custom interior perfect for business meeting on the go.


Also on display is a bespoke 1952 Daimler Straight Eight Limousine by Hooper, which was ordered by the late King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman of Saudi Arabia, and features many special features befitting a royal clientele.


“This unique and varied collection has something of interest for car enthusiasts young and old, and we’re very proud to have them on display,” said Firas Matraji, CEO of Barr Al Jissah.


There’s a great range of vehicles on show, from the cheerful 2CV from Citroen, to a limited edition BMW M3 which was produced to commemorate the twentieth national day celebrations here in Oman.


“Fans of the BMW marque will also be interested to view the mint condition BMW 3.0CSI which is a beautiful and timeless piece of automotive history,” he added.


Other vehicles in the collection include a duet of Bentleys – the first is a 2004 Bentley Arnage and the other is a rare 1996 Bentley Val d’Isere, an estate conversion of a Bentley Turbo R. Also in the collection is a custom modified 1998 Peugeot Coupe, an elegant 2000 Mercedes CL500, 1946 Ford Deluxe, 1948 Ford Super Deluxe, a V10 powered 1999 Chrysler Caravan, and a nostalgia-inducing 1964 Volkswagen Beetle.


Al Mazaar features family fun for everyone. In addition to the vintage car collection, the newly opened ‘Springbox’ where children can enjoy thrills and with six unique activities to enjoy, including; free jump, basketball, dodgeball, a running wall, as well as a climbing wall and ninja course with foam pits.


The centre also features a unique ‘Artbox’ concept which promotes arts and crafts activities for the entire family along with interactive workshops; while the Al Mazaar ‘Gallery’ showcases a series of exhibitions, further promoting Omani art and culture. The centre also features a ‘Teen Zone’ for youngsters to enjoy and a party room for themed celebrations and events. Meanwhile, parents can even relax at the lounge and enjoy refreshments from the Zafran Café, while their children are kept entertained with the activities at the centre.


Al Mazaar is located at Barr Al Jissah, opening hours are 9 am to 8 pm daily.
