MUSCAT: The 2nd Veterinary Medicine Forum started at Sundus Rotana Hotel on Wednesday under the patronage of Dr Fuad bin Jaafar al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries. The forum, organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, aims to introduce the objectives of veterinary medicine and its importance and the mechanism of developing the profession. Sulaiman bin Mohammed al Salmi, Director-General of Animal Resources at the ministry, said that veterinary medicine is a high noble profession for its care in the field of veterinary medicine.
The first day of the forum included a presentation on the role of the ministry in the interest of veterinary medicine and livestock, in addition to the presentation of a number of working papers that reviewed the areas and mechanisms of development of the profession and the importance of bio-security in animal production farms, as well as honouring the sponsoring institutions of the activities of the forum. — ONA
