MUSCAT: The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources has detected a number of unauthorised ground wells and artesian wells in different governorates of the Sultanate mostly in North and South Al Batinah governorates. The increasing number of ground wells due to random digging during the past number of years was found to be a major reason for water salinity.
