Tropical system not to have effect on Oman: Met

Oman Meteorology has pointed out that the latest satellite imagery and weather charts analysis in the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center show existence of scattered convective clouds associated with the tropical storm (OCKHI) south east of Arabian Sea lay centered on latitude 6.7 N and longitude 78.3 E.


According to numerical weather predictions charts the storm is likely to intensify more and move towards the center of Arabian Sea within the next 24 hours. The forecast indicates that the movement of the Tropical system will be towards the Indian subcontinent during the next few days without any effect over the Sultanate.


The Public Authority for Civil Aviation advices all to follow the weather bulletins published by the center.


Forecast for December 1 (from 7pm to 7pm following day): Mainly clear skies over most of the Sultanate with chances of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog patches over parts of Buraimi, South Sharqiya and Al Wusta governorates.
