MUSCAT: Steered by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tareq al Said, Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan, and Chairman of The Research Council (TRC), the TRC Board held its first meeting for 2018.
The Board reviewed the Council’s efforts in support and empowerment of research and innovation and were briefed on the work progress and achievements under the various programmes and projects.
During the meeting, the Board also discussed the progress made on TRC memberships in a number of regional committees and organisations.
TRC Board members were also briefed on the latest stages of the programme of transforming graduation projects to start-ups in the Information and Communication Technology sector (ICT) ‘Upgrade’, that is supervised for the second year by TRC, in collaboration with a number of stakeholders for providing the necessary support, training and incubation for the three projects that won in the first year of the programme.
TRC Board also discussed the outcomes of the 12th meeting of the International Advisory Board of TRC that was held last year.
