The annual meeting of the Ministry of Transport and Communications with the media comes in the framework of familiarising the community of what has been implemented during the previous year in various sectors of the ministry, as well as unveiling the details of 2017 plan.


The Ministry of Transport and Communications is working on the completion of strategic projects in the road sector, namely Al Batinah 272 km Highway, and the completion of 248 km Bidbid-Sur Road.


The media meeting will highlight the role of the ports and logistics sector in economic development in a manner that meets the aspirations of the Sultanate to make it a strong asset in economic development, and enabling it to play a greater role in the diversification of sources of income.


The civil aviation sector has witnessed a remarkable development as the Ministry is working on completing the airports projects, including the new Muscat International Airport and regional airports project in each of Al Duqm, Ras al Had and Sohar.


Salim bin Mohammed al Nuaimi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry for Transport, Said bin Hamdoon al Harthy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry for Ports and Maritime Affairs, Dr Mohammed bin Nasser al Zaabi, CEO of the Public Authority of Civil Aviation, and Abdul Rahman bin Salem al Hatami, CEO of Oman Global Logistics Group will attend the meeting.  — ONA
