Traffic at Muscat airport growing rapidly: ACI

MUSCAT: A report issued by the Airports Council International (ACI), based in Montreal, Canada, confirmed that passenger traffic in Muscat International Airport is growing rapidly. The report, published by the Travel Daily News on its website, said passenger traffic at Muscat International Airport grew by 17.5 per cent in June 2017 compared to the same period last year. The report pointed out that passenger traffic in the Middle East region grew by 3 per cent in June 2017 compared to June 2016 while it rose by 7.9 per cent in Asia and the Pacific. The report showed that air cargo grew in the Middle East region in June 2017 by 1.6 per cent compared to 8.8 per cent in Asia and the Pacific. The growth of cargo traffic during the year was 6.6 per cent in the Middle East and 10.1 per cent in Asia and the Pacific. — ONA
